A good business. But at what price?
How a business can pass the quality test and still ask too much of its next few years.
A strong business and an attractive price answer two different questions. In our fictional Aster Consumer case, steadier margins and better cash collection make the business easier to understand. They do not, by themselves, tell us what price makes sense.
The next step in this sample framework is to make the assumptions visible. How much growth is already expected? How long do strong margins need to last? A change to either assumption can meaningfully change the value we estimate.
That is why this demo changes the stance from Buy to Hold even as the business improves. A research note should explain both the business and the expectations in the price, then record what would change the view.
